Hazardous smoke blankets Sydney as bushfires continue to burn

Hazardous smoke blankets Sydney as bushfires continue to burn Australia's iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge have been shrouded in hazardous bushfire smoke as a blaze continues to burn in the Blue Mountains, west of the city. The city's air quality is currently three times worse than at any time in the last five years. About 120 fires, including around 50 that are not contained, are still burning across New South Wales.
Bushfires have ravaged around a million hectares of farmland and bush along Australia's east coast, destroying more than 500 homes.
