In US news and current events today, the U.S. might be facing a shortage of french fries thanks to climate change and the climate crisis. There's no doubt that the U.S. is addicted to french fries, but the extreme cold and extreme snowstorms brought on by the climate crisis are wreaking havoc on potato crops and potato farming this year in the midwest. The result is a potato shortage and smaller than usual potatoes. The Department of Agriculture is expecting a 6% decrease in output. Winter storms and extreme cold weather might be tied to the climate crisis.
