Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister For 15 Years, Known For Transforming Delhi Veteran Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, who served three terms as the Chief Minister of Delhi between 1998 and 2013, died today at the age of 81 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Ms Dikshit, who also served as Governor of Kerala, was credited with transforming Delhi's infrastructure, improving public transport and helping it become a less polluted city with the introduction of CNG-powered low-floor buses. She led a revamp of Delhi ahead of the 2010 Commonwealth Games, constructing new roads and flyovers, expanding metro service and modernising the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
