Godfrey opened up to VladTV about working with the late John Witherspoon on Soul Plane and how he reacted to the news of his death. Godfrey revealed that he dedicated his recent shows to Witherspoon, and shared that Witherspoon had a lot of the same mannerisms that made him famous in some of his classic films. Godfrey went on to speak about other conversations he had with Witherspoon and he shared the advice that he got that made him change his stand-up lineup.
