Patterns and Desires.

Patterns and desires that Eve may have formed that possibly made her more susceptible to agreeing with the serpent’s lie. In my own life, I see how powerful patterns and desires are. I came to conclude that a desire fulfilled that is not connected to the Father’s heart, is nothing but a tree of life. It actually brings death because it’s not sustainable. It will ask you to jump on the treadmill of life with no hope of every getting off. We see this in another story about Balak and Balaam. Balaam struggled with greed and was lured away by his desire for rewards. Eve, on the other hand, saw that the tree was desirous for gaining wisdom and she ate. She seemed to have cultivated a desire for wisdom apart from God. Why didn’t she just ask her Father for Wisdom? She might have even humbly gone to her Daddy and said, “Can you help me understand why we can’t eat from that tree?” She kept those thoughts a secret. But God knew, and her concealing them gave place for the enemy to pounce at just the opportune time. God’s love never ever fails. Connect with Him and you will find the true Tree of Life!
