Sterling falls slightly against the US dollar and Euro

Sterling falls slightly against the US dollar and Euro (14 Oct 2019) The price of sterling declined slightly Monday against the US dollar and Euro following its gains on Friday.

On Friday the pound hit a 3-month high following optimism of a Brexit breakthrough.

But on Monday it was down one per cent against the dollar at 1.257 dollars to the pound.

Against the Euro it was down 0.7 per cent to 1.14.

The decline came after the EU demanded more concessions on the government's Brexit proposals, leading to less certainty that a deal will be done.
