Verona-based Epic Systems is mulling new projects again after putting a 15-year frenzy of construction on pause last year.
The company said it plans to begin new construction in the next three to five years after filing an application to displace wetlands on its sprawling campus south of Madison. Epic’s wetland filing says it wants to build an expansion to accommodate some 1,200 employees.
The company says it plans to finish construction of one of five campuses at its 1,000-acre headquarters site and is planning future expansions as needed.
Epic construction projects are some of the most eye-catching and innovative in the state. The company has\ designed buildings along a number of themes, such as Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz.
Work on the campus kept contractors busy for 15 years straight before putting construction on-hold last summer. Company officials then said its facilities had finally caught up to employment.

Amazon appears to be pursuing another large warehouse in Beloit under a deal the city inked with a developer this week.
City officials say crews could begin grading work next week on an 80-acre site that’s slated for a new 1 million square foot Amazon facility.
It’s the third major Amazon facility in Wisconsin after the company brought large warehouse buildings to Kenosha and Oak Creek. The company also has a presence in Sussex and in Milwaukee on Miller Park Way.
City officials say the company hopes to have the Beloit warehouse finished by late September 2020. But they’ve declined to release many details of the development until an Amazon developer closes on a land purchase.
That’s it for this week’s punch list, we’ll see you next week.
