The mother of this young boy, aged 3, called for an emergency appointment as he had pushed a twig from a branch inside his right ear.

Oto-endoscopic examination revealed a twig positions inferiorly at the base of his auditory meatus, extending medially towards his tympanic membrane.

Keeping very still, I managed to performed E-suction with a Fine End Gauge 18 attached to a Zoellner suction probe. Fortunately, there was no trauma or injury caused to either the young boy’s external auditory meatus or tympanic membrane.
The twig measured 0.5 cm.
