School fire kills at least 30 children as they learned about religion At least 30 children have been killed after a school fire in Liberia, local police say.  Authorities say the fire broke out at the school in Paynesville City, in the West African country's capital of Monrovia.  The children were learning from the Koran when the fire began, police said.  The fire started late on Tuesday, local-time, in the suburbs of Monrovia, Liberian President George Weah said in a tweet.    "The kids were learning the Koran when the fire broke police spokesman Moses Carter said.  "The cause is not known yet."  Mr Weah wrote a tribute on Twitter to the children who lost their lives in the tragedy.  He said: "My prayers go out to the families of the children that died last night in Paynesville City; as a result of a deadly fire that engulfed their school building.  "This is a tough time for the families of the victims and all of Liberia.  "Deepest condolences go out to the bereaved families and the entire Islamic Community.  "May God strengthen them and give them the courage to persevere. Let’s continue to keep the families in our prayers."
