Elderly Woman Airlifted In Critical Condition After Accidentally Being Ran Over In Whittier 09.16.2019 | 4:18 PM | WHITTIER - A 75-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition after being accidentally ran over by her husband in front of their home, Monday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in front of a residence near the intersection of Larrylyn Drive and Grayling Avenue around 4:18 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a 75-year-old female suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a car what was backing up in the driveway of a home.

Firefighter paramedics transported the woman by ground to a nearby church where she was loaded into an awaiting helicopter to be rushed to USC Medical Center.

Witnesses reported that the woman was struck by her husband who was bucking up his car in the driveway of the couple's home.

Officers were questioning the husband but he was not detained.

It appears the incident was a tragic accident.
