No deal Brexit can be stopped claims John Bercow!

The Speaker, John Bercow, has claimed that not only can a no deal Brexit be stopped by Parliament, but also that he will stop Boris Johnson shutting down Westminster to force through a no deal Brexit.

John Bercow, the Speaker of the House of Commons, said yesterday that he would do all he can to stop the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, forcing a no deal Brexit scenario by proroguing or shutting down parliament.

And he would fight any attempt by the PM to do so with every bone in his body he said.

He also claimed that MPs could if they wished stop a no deal Brexit from happening

Speaking in Edinburgh, the Remain backing but meant to be impartial Speaker, said:

“The one thing I feel strongly about is that the House of Commons must have its way.

“And if there is an attempt to circumvent, to bypass or – God forbid! – to close down Parliament; that is anathema to me and I will fight it with every bone in my body to stop that happening.

“We cannot have a situation in which Parliament is shut down – we are a democratic society. And Parliament will be heard and nobody is going to get away as far as I am concerned with stopping that happening.”

I do have to say that, as far as I am personally concerned, this Speaker has passed its sell-by date. It stinks to high heaven of pro-Remain bias and should be removed from the house forthwith.

And further, Parliament has had its way! It's passed several Acts of Parliament, you know, primary legislation that sets the UK on a course of leaving the EU.

The trouble is it seems that he has other plans and wants to maintain his odious presence within the hallowed halls of Westminster.

I seriously question whether he would be saying these same things, if the default legal position in statute law was to Remain in the EU.

And now that so many people, including MPs, have questioned his impartiality, surely it's time for him to begone?!
