Executive - Legislative Agenda 2019

Executive - Legislative Agenda 2019 Tarlac City officials led by Mayor Maria Cristina C. Angeles and the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice Mayor Genaro M. Mendoza have finalized last August 14-16 the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) that will chart the major development thrusts and priorities of the City Government for the next three years.

LAYING DOWN OF THE 12-POINT AGENDA: The ELA meet focused on the recall of the 12-point agenda that served as the backbone of Mayor Cristy’s administration during her first term of office as the Local Chief Executive. She thanked the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod and colleagues in the City Government for the steadfast commitment in delivering the best service to each and every TarlaqueƱo.

Mayor Cristy said that general priorities and platforms of governance under the existing 12-point agenda remain the same but will be broadened in the scope of implementation.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod expressed appreciation to the tireless efforts of Mayor Cristy and offered full cooperation for the completion of the ELA.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO) Engr. Robert Diola conducted technical intervention that facilitated the ELA formulation.

COMPLETION OF THE ELA BLUEPRINT: DILG Provincial Director (PD) Belina Herman, CESO V, further gave clarificatory guidelines particularly in the process of ELA’s content and format. PD Herman emphasized that the ELA must also represent the vision and the development goals, objectives and strategies of the Local Government Units.

Among the agenda priorities are the institutionalisation of an efficient local fiscal management, promotion of business-friendly environment and collaboration with private and third sectors, development programs in the areas of healthcare and social services, lot title ownership, education, small and medium enterprises, infrastructure, environmental management, climate change and disaster preparedness, improvement of the city’s transport and traffic management and heightened campaign against criminality and illegal drugs.

The City’s ELA is expected to continuously bolster participation in the accomplishment of city’s plans and programs. The success of this activity shows that the City Officials and heads of different departments in the City Government are one in facing all the hurdles and challenges that the next three years will bring, a true representation of the expression “Magkaisa, Bawat Oras, Sama-sama.”
