Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop and in this video we will tell you about the new 3D printer, Anet E16.
E16 is a new model in the line of FDM-printers from Anet, a famous Chinese manufacturer.
This simple and user-friendly machine comes as a DIY-kit. However, this shouldn’t alert you - anyone can handle the assembly as long as they know how to use a hex key and a pair of cutting pliers.
The package contains three main parts of the device: the chassis, the vertical frame and the system unit. It will take from 15 to 30 minutes to fully assemble and set up the printer.
The machine comes with a detailed instruction and the design of the components makes it impossible to install them in a wrong way.
The package also includes a toolkit: hex keys, a pair of cutting pliers, a screwdriver, a ruler and a shovel. Besides that, in the package you will find PLA filament, a spare hot end, a microSD card and a card reader.
Just like the preceding model, Anet E12, this new 3D printer has a sturdy aluminum frame, a single print head and a heated bed.
The improved frame, a new filament feeding system and upgraded firmware are among the numerous novelties that distinguish E16 from its predecessors.
Aluminum profile mechanism allows for more stable and accurate printing. The vibration is decreased by corner brackets that connect the parts of the frame. The V-groove profile improves accuracy and reduces noise during printing.
The mainboard was upgraded with overload and overheat protection systems, which makes printing more safe and stable.
The filament feeding system reduces the weight and the motion inertia of the extruder, and achieves better printing quality. This allows the printer to support flexible materials, such as FLEX, TPU and SBS.
Anet E16 has a large print size. Its build volume is comparable to that of more expensive printers and allows to print large models in one go.
The system unit of E16 looks almost the same as its predecessor’s: it has a monochrome LCD display, a navigation knob you can turn and push, and also a reset button.
The heatbed comes with a glass panel. At first glance it may seem as a simple low-cost solution, but this approach has proven to be reliable. Good adhesives will keep parts stuck on the bed and prevent warping and curling.
Traditionally for all Anet printers, preparation of 3D models is done with a Cura slicer. If you’re not used to working with this software, you are free to use what you like best.
You can use a microSD card to transfer files ready for 3D printing.
Since this model has a heated bed and no enclosed casing, those who plan on printing with materials sensitive to temperature fluctuations should be aware of occasional drafts.
Anet E16 is a user-friendly and reliable 3D printer. We recommend it to 3D enthusiasts of all levels and abilities. A large build volume and a heated bed will allow you to create big models in one go without having to assemble them from multiple printed parts.
