Rep. Adam Schiff, chair of the House intelligence committee, questioned former special counsel Robert Mueller during his July 24 testimony about the extent of Russian efforts to sway the 2016 election in favor of President Donald Trump as well as Trump associates’ lies about their connections with Russia. Mueller, who led an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible ties to President Donald Trump’s campaign, agreed to appear before Congress, but warned he would not go beyond what was already documented in his final report.
