David Weatherly's personal theory is that the Black-Eyed Kids are actually some type of interdimensional being. "I don't think they're children at all-- I think they're something that is able to assume the form of a child," he said. Slenderman, he noted, started off as a frightening but fictional Internet meme, but may have become a kind of tulpa-- a thought-form created apparition that can take on physical qualities. The Djinn, who'll be the subject of his next book, are other-dimensional entities associated with the Middle East and Islam. They don't like to be looked at, and have very sinister agendas, he revealed.
