Hillsborough school board to reconsider changing Native American mascots | 10News WTSP The Hillsborough County School Board is scheduled to discuss mascot changes to several of the district’s schools at a Tuesday meeting.

Last week, a 10-year-old girl named Maggie Ramos collected hundreds of signatures and made a passionate plea for school board members to reconsider changing some schools’ Native American mascots.

The board then voted unanimously to ask Superintendent Jeff Eakins to suspend all mascot discussions until the board had an opportunity to review the process of changing mascots within the district.
