Any student can be inspired by the possibilities of computer science

Any student can be inspired by the possibilities of computer science Google and 4-H, the nation’s largest youth development organization, are working together to provide young Americans the opportunity to learn computer science through hands-on activities in their own communities.

West Virginia native, Decklan Thomas, doesn’t consider himself a programming whiz, but access to these resources have expanded his perspective. Learning how to code helps kids develop the analytical, creative, and critical thinking necessary to be creators and problem-solvers in any field.

Google.org is granting $6 million to 4-H, in a follow up to a $1.5 million grant in 2017. Over the next three years, the program will reach more than one million 4-H youth across America – 60% who live in rural communities.
